Coronation Street Pulls in 11 Million Viewers

A rare Tuesday night outing for Coronation Street topped 11 million viewers as the aftermath of the tram-crash left several residents of Weatherfield in great danger while ratings for Holby City fell below 4 million viewers.

 

 

A rare Tuesday night outing for Coronation Street topped 11 million viewers as the aftermath of the tram-crash left several residents of Weatherfield in great danger. Tuesday’s episode of Coronation Street dealt with the immediate aftermath of Monday’s tram-crash as the residents of the street looked for loved ones and tried to dig out trapped survivors in the Corner Shop and The Joinery. According to early overnight ratings the episode was seen by 11.2 million viewers which is down on the 13.2 million viewers who watched the tram-crash episode on Monday. However, the figure is still very strong for the Granada soap and makes it the most watched programme of the day.

 

Holby City suffered at the hands of the rare Tuesday episode though with its ratings falling to 3.9 million viewers. The BBC One medical drama usually pulls in over 5.5 million viewers but its clash with Coronation Street (and Emmerdale) saw ratings fall. Elsewhere soapwise early data reveals that 9.3 million viewers watched EastEnders while 8 million viewers watched Emmerdale.
