Glenn Gordon Caron, creator of Medium, has promised “complete closure” for the CBS supernatural series which has been cancelled by the broadcaster. Medium has effectively been cancelled by CBS following a decline in ratings with the broadcaster cutting its episode order by half and while series star Patricia Arquette and Caron have both stated the series has been cancelled CBS has yet to officially announce its demise.
It takes place in the present, it takes place seven years after that, and then it takes place 40 years after that. We have to be intelligent, and we have to startle. I know for certain that people will tear up” – Glenn Gordon Caron quoted on Entertainment Weekly
Medium started out its life on NBC before it was cancelled by the broadcaster but quickly acquired by CBS as its studio arm produces the series. It was paired up with fellow supernatural series Ghost Whisperer for its first season on CBS. However, while Medium was renewed Ghost Whisperer was axed even though it rated slightly higher but now, just several months down the line, Medium has suffered a similar fate.
