New Books to explore Ashes’ Gene Hunt

Ashes to AshesA new series of books will explore the life of Gene Hunt between the Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes television series’.

 

 

 

Ashes to AshesThe popular UN-PC character of Gene Hunt (Phillip Glenister) looks set to continue this time though in print form. A new series of books are planned featuring the character which will explore what happened to DCI Hunt between Life on Mars and its spin-off Ashes to Ashes. The BBC television series’ were created by Matthew Graham and Ashley Pharoah who reportedly planning on publishing a new range of novels which will be set between 1973 and 1981; the gap in time between the two shows. The novels could therefore feature the character of Sam Tyler (John Simm) who was the protagonist of Life on Mars but supposedly died by the time of 1981.

 

Life on Mars ran for two seasons which spin-off series Ashes to Ashes saw Keeley Hawes’ character stranded in  the 1980s and ran for three years. Audio versions of the new  stories could be narrated by actor Phillip Glenister himself.
