Channel 4’s Peep Show recommissioned

Channel 4 has confirmed that long running comedy programme Peep Show has been recommissioned.

Peep Show, which has been running since 2003 has been given two more series it has been confirmed today. The seventh series which kicked off last month to disappointing ratings, with under 1 million viewers tuning in. Channel 4 decided to screen the first episode a week earlier on their 4OD service.

One of the stars of Peep Show, David Mitchell hit out at Channel 4 for its decision not to premier it on television first. He said at the time via Twitter “I’m tweeting about it so you know but it makes me sad for TV as a medium and so I advocate watching it next Friday on Channel 4 at 10pm. Either way, I hope you enjoy it.”

Speaking via Broadcast, a Channel 4 spokesperson did not give any other details on the new series or when they would air.
