Corrie fans want lesbian wedding

Fans of Coronation Street want to see a wedding between Sophie Webster and Sian Powers according to a new poll.

 

According to a new poll by Inside Soap fans of Coronation Street want to a see a wedding between Sophie Webster (Brooke Vincent) and Sian Powers (Sacha Parkinson). The two characters are currently involved in a hugely popular romance – Coronation Street’s first lesbian storyline in its 50 year history. The duo have topped a poll by the weekly magazine as the couple readers would most like to see walk down the aisle.

 

Interestingly EastEnders gay couple Syed Masood (Marc Elliot) and Christian Clarke (John Partridge) were second in the poll. In a recent poll by ATV Today to find readers favourite (current in UK soaps) gay couple Syed and Christian were the winners but it was a very close battle between the two and Sian & Sophie – in the end over 1.5 million votes were cast in the poll.

 

Earlier this week there were reports that Coronation Street was to feature its first gay wedding but between Sean Tully (Anthony Cotton) and ex-boyfriend Marcus (Charlie Condou) – these reports have yet to be confirmed by Corrie.
