DollhouseFans of Joss Whedon’s cancelled Fox series Dollhouse may well be wondering what the Buffy creator had install for them had his creation been give a third series by the broadcaster – instead of the axe. Well producer Tim Minear has revealed a few details. Minear has worked on several Whedon shows such as Firefly and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

In an interview with Assignment X the producer discussed Dollhouse and how its mythology would have developed in its third series – admitting the a character who can’t remember their actions becomes “boring for the audience” but the third season would have tackled that.

So when we started allowing her to remember things, and then started taking the concept and making it into what her superpower was, it started turning into something else. I think what you would have seen in Season Three is [a series] a lot more embracing of its mythology and turned into more of a superhero show. It would have been a little bit more like Buffy in some ways. – Tim Minear talking to Assignment X

Sounds interesting and makes us wish that Dollhouse had been given a proper chance and a decent slot by Fox. After all the Friday night slot is notoriously tricky so its no wonder [some] Fringe fans are already talking of the show as if its already been cancelled.
