Doctor Who - A Christmas CarolFinal ratings figures have been released for Christmas and they reveal that this year’s Christmas Special of Doctor Who was seen by over 12 million viewers. The overnight figures for A Christmas Carol had 10.3 million viewers tuning in for the first festive special to be written by Steven Moffat. However, the more accurate final figures for the episode have now been released adding nearly 2 million viewers to the episode.

 

The official audience for Doctor Who – A Christmas Carol now stands at 12.1 million viewers which makes the special the third most watched programme of Christmas Day. It also puts the special as the fourth most watched Doctor Who episode since the shows revival in 2005. Figures for the iPlayer reveal that there has been 750,000 requests for the episode – the fourth most popular programme on the iPlayer for Christmas week behind Top Gear and Come Fly With Me.
