BBC has no plans for a second series of Single Father
The BBC has no plans to order a second series of the BBC One drama Single Father which starred Suranne Jones and David Tennant.
A spokesperson for the BBC has told ATV Today that there are ‘no plans’ to order a second series of the BBC One drama Single Father. The four-part drama aired on BBC One in the Autumn on Sunday evenings opposite Downton Abbey on ITV1. Against such strong opposition on ITV the drama was dwarfed in terms of ratings launching with 4.8 million viewers.
Single Father starred David Tennant and Suranne Jones and was written by Mick Ford. It followed the character of Dave (played by Tennant), a photographer who struggles to bring up his children following the sudden death of his wife Rita. A spokesperson for the BBC confirmed to ATV Today that ’there are no plans at the moment for a second series’.
