TorchwoodThe BBC has announced the air date for Torchwood: The New World which begins production in Los Angeles shortly. The BBC has announced via Torchwood’s official channel on Facebook and Twitter that the fourth series of the Doctor Who spin-off will begin broadcasting in America and the UK on 1st July 2011 (it’s a Friday). The first episode of Torchwood: The New World will go out in the 9pm slot on BBC One/BBC One HD. Air-dates have been known to change however, so its possible between now and July the date may change but the announcement gives fans their first clear indication as to when they can expect to see the return of Torchwood.

 

It has also been announced that the very first episode will be directed by Bharat Nalluri whose previous credits include Life on Mars, Hustle and Spooks which airs in America as MI-5.

UPDATED: The BBC has revealed that the date given on the Facebook page for Torchwood was actually in-correct.
