Coronation Street actors want to do another live episode but the months of planning it takes to organise probably means it’ll be the 60th anniversary before the Granada soap tackles one again. For the 50th anniversary Corrie performed a special one-hour live episode which dealt with the aftermath of the tram-crash and saw the death of Molly Dobbs (Vicky Binns). For Coronation Street’s 40th anniversary a live episode was also performed. However, while the cast enjoyed the recent live episode it seems unlikely another one will happen any time soon because of all the planning involved.

EastEnders also went live last year for its 25th anniversary and the cast also enjoyed the experience as well. ITV’s now defunct police drama The Bill also went live on two occasions, to mark its 20th anniversary and to mark the 55th anniversary of broadcaster ITV.
