Strong return for Dancing on Ice and Lark Rise

Dancing on IceITV’s celebrity skating competition Dancing on Ice returned to the broadcaster last night with over 8 million viewers while period drama Lark Rise to Candleford opened its fourth season with over 6 million viewers.

 

Dancing on IceDancing on Ice returned to ITV1 last night for the latest season of the celebrity skating competition. Amongst this year’s line-up is Kerry Katona, Chloe Madeley, Denise Welch, Sam Attwater and Jeff Brazier (light on the celebrity this year). Dancing on Ice got to an impressive start with over 8.6 million viewers though ratings for its result show were lower with 7 million viewers returning – Nadia Sawalha and Angela Rippon were both voted off in a double-eviction. Sandwiched between Dancing on Ice and its result show was drama Wild at Heart which was back for a sixth season of African based antics. The drama starring Steven Tompkinson and Dawn Steele returned with 7.4 million viewers.

 

Over on BBC One period drama Lark Rise to Candelford returned for a fourth season. The drama starring Julia Sawalha had 6.7 million viewers at 8pm. The figure is down on the 7.5 million who tuned in for the start of the third series last year but is higher than the average 6.1 million for the third season.

 

Elsewhere last night Adrian Chiles’ new ITV show That Sunday Night Show kicked off its eight part run with an impressive 3.2 million viewers at 10.15pm.
