HBOAmerican broadcasters HBO and Starz have reportedly passed on acquiring The Kennedy’s after it was dropped by History. According to The Hollywood Reporter both broadcasters have declined interest in the series which stars Katie Holmes and Greg Kinnear. The eight-part drama revolves around the Kennedy family. Part of the reason HBO may have declined the series is because it’s developing a project based on Vincent Buhloissi book Reclaiming History: The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter broadcaster FX has also declined interested in the series. Speculation almost immediately focused on Showtime as a possible broadcaster for The Kennedy’s or AMC but since then there’s been little development on either front. If The Kennedy’s doesn’t find another broadcaster another option is to go straight to DVD.
