J.J Abrams has revealed that Fringe’s move to Friday evening has allowed the series to get even darker and become ‘unhinged Fringe’. In an interview with TV Line, J.J Abrams teased fans that the remaining third season episodes will be darker and ‘out there’.
“When we made the move and [executive producers] Joe [Chappelle] and Jeff [Pinker] started pitching stuff, we thought, ‘Well, this will probably get a little pushback. During the interview J.J Abrams also revealed that visually the Friday move had allowed Fringe to push the boundaries as well. He explained “if I had done in a film, the PG-13 rating would have been taken from us.”. At the press tour yesterday Kevin Reilly insisted that Fringe wasn’t dead and its Friday move was not a sure sign of cancellation. You can read more on that story here >>
