Russell T. Davies has discussed the brand new Torchwood, renamed Miracle Day, which has just begun filming in Los Angeles. While discussing the brand new series of Torchwood the writer has reassured fans it is not reboot of the Doctor Who spin-off but he is seeking to attract new fans.
“It’s been off air for a couple of years and actually that shows on-screen. But importantly for fans, there’s not a glitch. It’s literally the same show. With a new channel and a new start, it could be brand new for you. There are new characters… who know nothing about Torchwood. They’re like the new… audience. New viewers can all come and join in. Part of the legend of the first episode is digging up the mystery of Torchwood.” – Russell T Davies talking to AOL Television.
It was revealed last week that the name for the fourth series of Torchwood had been changed from The New World to Miracle Day. Starring alongside Eve Myles and John Barrowman in the series will be Bill Pullman and Mekhi Phifer.
Torchwood: Miracle Day airs on BBC One and Starz in July.
