Showtime passes on The Kennedys

Showtime has reportedly decided not to acquire the eight-part mini-series The Kennedys.

 

The Kennedys is without a home and the list of possible broadcasters grows ever shorter. Since History announced it would not broadcast the historical drama, because it didn’t ‘fit’ its remit, the search has been on for a new broadcaster. Early on speculation focused on Showtime as a possible new home for The Kennedys, the drama starring Katie Holmes and Greg Kinnear. However, Showtime has apparently decided to pass on acquiring The Kennedys. HBO has also decided not to acquire the drama as it has its own Kennedy drama in the pipeline. So the list of possible new broadcasters is growing shorter for the drama.
