The BorgiasShowtime’s brand new historical drama The Borgias could run for four seasons according to its creator Neil Jordan. The Borgias’s is the broadcasters successor to The Tudors which ended last year after four seasons charting the reign, and wives, of King Henry VIII (played by Jonathan Rhys-Meyers in the series). The Borgias is about the notorious criminal family during the Italian renaissance.

From 1492 to 1514 or it was a brief span but it changed the entirety of Italy. You could easily build four seasons around it.” – Neil Jordan quoted on The Hollywood Reporter.

The Borgias stars Jeremy Irons, Holliday Grainger, Derek Jacobi, Ruta Gedmintas and Colm Feore. In the UK it will air on the newly launched digital channel Sky Atlantic over the Summer.
