Frankie Boyle's Channel 4 show facing the axe

Frankie Boyle’s Channel 4 show which was the subject of many complaints last year is expected to be axed.

According to newspaper reports this morning, ‘Tramadol Nights’ is likely to be axed by the new Channel 4 controller Jay Hunt. The show hit the headlines late last year after the comedian made crude jokes regarding model Katie Price and her disabled son Harvey. Katie subsequently filed an official complaint to OFCOM who are currently investigating the show.

His first series for Channel 4 did not set the ratings alight, failing to get above 1 million viewers. There are rumours that Boyle will remain with Channel 4 though, with possibilities of fronting new shows for the channel.

It has also been revealed that the controversial comedian will not be attending the British Comedy Awards, which air live on Channel 4 this Saturday. Boyle left BBC Two’s Mock The Week in 2009.
