Hugh Bonneville to guest star in Doctor Who
Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville is to guest star in the forthcoming new series of Doctor Who.
The Sun is reporting that Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville is to appear in the forthcoming new series of Doctor Who. The actor will play a pirate in the new series and reveals he was a fan of the original series and watched when Jon Pertwee was the Doctor.
“When I was a boy, the music and Jon Pertwee’s doctor had me peeking out from behind the sofa every Saturday. I am thrilled to be appearing in the new series. Although the pirate’s demons are different to those of the young lad who watched through his fingers, they are no less terrifying – this new adventure is not for the faint-hearted.” – Hugh Bonneville quoted in The Sun
Hugh Bonneville played the Earl of Grantham in ITV’s hit drama Downton Abbey. The Edwardian drama has been commissioned for a second series and a Christmas Special by ITV. Bonneville’s other roles include Lost in Austin (alongside Alex Kingston), Five Days and Hunter.
