The BBC has ordered a second series of David Walliams and Matt Lucas’ hit mockumentary, Come Fly With Me. The BBC One comedy launched on Christmas Day with over 10 million viewers and while ratings naturally dropped from that high the figures remained strong throughout. Come Fly With Me features Lucas and Walliams in a variety of roles obviously mimicking docu-soaps such as Airline and Airport which were popular in the early 2000’s.
Amongst the characters which have proven popular with viewers are Keelie and Melody the Check-in Girls, Ian Foot the Immigration Officer and Precious the coffee shop owner who is always finding some excuse to close early. The series is narrated by Lindsay Duncan and across its first season featured guest stars such as Barbara Windsor, Anna Friel and David Schwimmer.
The new series of Come Fly With Me is set to air on BBC One later this year.
