British actress Alex Kingston is to join the cast of Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Private Practice for a multi-episode stint.

 

British actress Alex Kingston is to join the cast of Grey’s Anatomy spin-off Private Practice for a multi-episode stint. Entertainment Weekly and TVLine are reporting that Kingston will play Marla, a therapist in several episodes of the ABC medical-drama. Kingston is no stranger to the world of medical drama having played Dr. Elizabeth Corday on NBC’s ER. The actress is currently appearing in ITV’s new drama ghostly drama Marchlands and will reprise her role of Professor River Song in the next series of Doctor Who. Kingston’s other recent roles include stints on Flashforward and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
