BenidormAccording to reports Benidorm writer Derren Litten has decided to quit the hit ITV comedy. The Sun is reporting that the writer will not pen any further episodes of the comedy which is just about to return for its fourth season.

I’m really looking forward to series four although it is with mixed emotions because it is the end of my Benidorm journey. I won’t be writing any more episodes. For me, the story of the Garveys and all of the other characters I created ends at episode six of series four. The time is right.” – Darren Litten quoted in The Sun

The death of actor Geoffrey Hutchings last year prompted re-writes for the Christmas Special and could be a possible reason behind Litten’s departure. The writer revealed last year that re-writing the special was an emotional experience. According to The Sun ITV are talking to the producers of Benidorm over its future.
