Matt Smith describes new Doctor Who as ‘harrowing’
Matt Smith has described the forthcoming sixth season of Doctor Who as ‘harrowing’.
Matt Smith has described the forthcoming sixth season of Doctor Who as ‘harrowing’. Matt Smith and Karen Gillan had both previously indicated the sixth season was darker and scarier in tone and it’s believed showrunner Steven Moffat shifted two episodes around in the running order because it was felt the first half of the season was “too dark” in tone. The latest comments from Matt Smith seem to confirm the new series will indeed be darker.
“The Doctor and Amy are going to be faced with some really harrowing and seismic choices about their relationship and who they are, and why they are important together” – Matt Smith quoted by Bang Showbiz
The sixth season of Doctor Who, since its revival, is due to air later this Spring. It will be spilt into half with the remaining episodes airing in the Autumn. It has already been confirmed that Alex Kingston will reprise her role of Professor River Song for the opening two-part story which is set in America and boasts location filming within the country itself.
