The stars of True Blood have given fans small hints of what to expect from the fourth season of the HBO drama. The 16 strong cast gathered at the second night of the Paleyfest at the Saban Theatre in Beverley Hills. The cast discussed the forthcoming fourth season of the ever popular vampire drama; hinting at fans what they can expect but not revealing too much. Anna Paquin discussed what the fourth season would mean for Sookie given her recent break-up with Bill (Stephen Moyer) and whether or not she’d end up with werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello) or vampire Eric (Alexander Skarsgard).
“There’s some stuff that’s different…..Eric is problematic for Sookie. He’s caused her some trouble. He seems to be looking out for himself … but then he’ll be disalarmingly on her side and has consistently shown interest. I mean, you never know….Alcide doesn’t turn into a charred ball of fire in daytime….But Alcide comes with baggage …” – Anna Paquin
Actress Rutina Wesley revealed viewers would see a different side to Tara in the new series. “We’ll see a new Tara. She’s a lot more stable and she may find some happiness.” the actress revealed while creator Alan Ball confirmed Tara and Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) would be teaming up for an episode. Meanwhile Alexander Skarsgard revealed Eric would face something of an face problems of his own – namely losing his memory. “He doesn’t know who he is … Eric needs help. Everything that we’ve built up in the past three seasons is just gone. … He’s lost, completely lost.” The plot is taken from Charlaine Harris’ fourth novel in The Southern Vampire Mysteries series.
Actor Denis O’Hare recently revealed he could return to True Blood at some point in the future. The actor played Russell Edgington, the vampire King of Mississippi, in the third series and was the main villain of the season. When questioned over a return for O’Hare creator Alan Ball teased fans “We didn’t kill his character off….”
Season Four of True Blood launches on HBO later this year. In the UK the third season is currently airing on FX on Friday evenings.
