Actor Ted Shackelford is temporarily leaving CBS soap The Young and the Restless and being replaced by actor Kin Shriner.
Actor Ted Shackelford is temporarily leaving CBS soap The Young and the Restless and being replaced by actor Kin Shriner. Shackelford plays Jeffrey Bardwell on the CBS soap having originally joined in 2006 in the role of William Bardwell. Shackelford played the role until July 2007 when the character was killed off but then weeks later he returned as twin Jeffrey Bardwell. A spokesperson for The Young and the Restless has confirmed that, for several episodes, Kin Shriner will took over the role.

Actor Kin Shriner previously appeared on The Young and the Restless in 2004 as Harrison Bartlett and has also had roles in The Bold and the Beautiful and As The World Turns. He played Scott Baldwin on ABC soap General Hospital and its spin-off Port Charles.
Actor Ted Shackelford is best known to prime time audiences for his role of Gary Ewing on Dallas and spin-off Knots Landing. Gary was the “black sheep” of the Ewing family and had no interest in the family oil business. Along with Joan Van Ark he launched Knots Landing in 1979 and remained with the drama until its end in 1993. His Knots Landing co-star Joan Van Ark appeared in The Young and the Restless between 2004 and 2005 playing Gloria Abbott and was replaced by Judith Chapman when she decided to leave.
