Caroline Aherene has written a new comedy for ITV – it is the writer/actresses first new comedy for nearly ten years.
The Security Man is a four-part comedy for ITV1 starring Dean Andrews and Bobby Ball playing two security guards. The comedy resolves around the two’s attempts to avoid doing any work while they work at a shopping centre in Manchester. According to reports the series will also star Peter Wright and Brendan O’Carroll.
The Security Man is the first new comedy created by Aherne since 2002’s Dossa and Joe which she co–wrote with Jeff Pope. However, Aherene has still written and acted during that time penning and appearing in several special editions of The Royle Family. The 2010 Christmas Special of the ever popular comedy had over 10 million viewers proving the series is still just as popular as ever.
