Viewers unimpressed by Don't Scare The Hare

Don't Scare the HareBBC One’s bizarre new game-show Don’t Scare The Hare, hosted by Jason Bradbury, has failed to impress viewers.

The new game show launched on BBC One last night prior to Doctor Who. According to overnight ratings the game-show only just had the better of ITV’s March of the Dinosaurs (with bad CGI). Don’t Scare the Hare had just 1.9 million viewers compared to 1.8 million for ITV’s dino offering. However, while the bad ratings can be put down to the hot weather the poor response from those who did watch it can not.

Viewers who caught the episode – or turned over towards the end ready for Doctor Who – were left unimpressed by the game-show and have been quick to post on various internet forums. Some viewers even thought Don’t Scare the Hare was a tie-in for Easter were surprised to be told more episodes were to come.

“I don’t think I’ve quite seen anything like Don’t Scare The Hare. I was wondering who on earth dreamt up the idea…it looked like a cheap, children’s quiz-show that would be better placed on CBeebies than prime-time BBC One” – Justin Mason,  ATV Critic

Posters on internet forums shared similar viewers with our television critic with many criticising the look, feel and format of the show. But do you agree? Did you watch Don’t Scare the Hare?
