BBC to repeat classic Who story in tribute to Elisabeth Sladen

Elisabeth SladenThe BBC is to repeat a story from the classic series of Doctor Who in tribute to the actress Elisabeth Sladen who played companion Sarah Jane Smith in the sci-fi series and its spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures.

The actress passed away last week at the age of 63 from cancer. A special 15 minute tribute, My Sarah Jane: A Tribute to Elisabeth Sladen, aired on CBBC on Saturday following the season six premier of Doctor Who. The tribute featured contributions from David Tennant, Katy Manning and Sladen’s co-stars in The Sarah Jane Adventures and was seen by over 700,000 viewers.

According to the Radio Times the classic Doctor Who story The Hand of Fear is to be repeated on BBC Four, spilt across two days, on Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th May. The story was Sladen’s last regular appearance in the series as Sarah Jane Smith opposite Tom Baker as the Doctor.
