Doctor Who sets new record for BBC America

The Impossible Astronaut aired in the states just hours after its UK premier and managed to beat the sci-fi’s previous record! According to ratings data the episode was seen by nearly 1.3 million viewers on BBC America which is slightly higher than the previous record set by Doctor Who last year. That makes The Impossible Astronaut the channel’s highest rated show ever. The episode itself – and next week’s concluding part of the opener – was partially filmed in America and is set in the country in 1969. The episode also guest-stars actors such as Stuart Milligan and Mark Sheppard.
