BBC orders more Not Going Out

BBC OneThe BBC has ordered a further two seasons of the Lee Mack comedy series Not Going Out.

The move by the BBC to order an additional two seasons is surprising given the corporation axed the comedy at the end of its third series in 2009. However, following an outcry from fans the BBC changed their minds (proving fan campaigns can sometimes worked) and commissioned a fourth series which aired last year.

Now Media Guardian have reported the BBC has ordered a fifth and a sixth season of Not Going Out. The comedy is written by Lee Mack and stars the comedian alongside Tim Vine and Sally Bretton. Miranda Hart appeared in the second series as Barbara, a cleaner for Mack’s character, but did not return for the third series because by that time she had her own hit comedy on BBC Two.
