Disappointing ratings for Fringe season finale

FringeThe third series of Fox’s quirky cult drama Fringe bowed out last night but its finale ratings were somewhat disappointing.

Fringe capped off its third season last night and will return for a fourth series later this year. There were some who claimed Fox was trying to kill off Fringe by moving it to the notorious “grave-yard” slot of Friday evening whose previous victims include Firefly, Dollhouse and The Sarah Connor Chronicles. However, Fox announced earlier this year it had ordered a fourth season. That’s despite the fact it has posted lower ratings in its Friday evening slot than is perhaps healthy. In Fringe deference though it does make up considerable ground thanks to DVR figures.  So how did the season three finale perform? Well according to early ratings data it had 3.3 million viewers overall with a 1.2 in the 18 – 49 demo.
