Doctor Who 50th Anniversary – Your Suggestions

Doctor WhoJust recently attention has been turned to the approaching 50th anniversary of Doctor Who which is only just around the corner. Showrunner Steven Moffat has hinted he already has something in mind for the anniversary while 9th Doctor actor Christopher Eccleston has stated he isn’t interested in returning too the series. How would you, the fans, like Doctor Who to mark its 50th anniversary? That’s what we are asking you this today.

The 10th anniversary in 1973 saw Patrick Troughton and William Hartnell (all be it briefly in the 1st Doctor’s case) reprise their roles and star alongside Jon Pertwee to defeat the Patrick Troughton and Jon Pertweerenegade Time Lord Omega. In 1983 the 20th anniversary was marked by The Five Doctors – with former companions and Doctors returning to fight Cybermen, Yeti, a lone Dalek, the Master and…a renegade Time Lord (well of sorts). We won’t mention how the 30th anniversary was marked in 1993 as most fans would rather forget Dimensions in Time.

So as the 50th anniversary approaches its only natural that the press and fans will begin to wonder what the producers have instore for them. Will it be another multi-Doctor story? Will companions from the original series return? Will it please the fans?

Well today we’re asking you what you’d like to see in an anniversary story. Would you like to see past Doctors return to fight alongside each other? Or should Doctor Who celebrate 50 years but looking to the future and not the past? Post your suggestions below!
