STV to produce new ITV1 Drama

Fast Freddie, the Widow and Me has been written by Christopher Dunlop for STV and will air on the ITV Network.

Writer Christopher Dunlop saya: “I’ve always wanted to write about the magic of Christmas colliding with the way we torment ourselves trying to make that one day perfect. Fast Freddie, the Widow and Me creates an idyllic family Christmas from the most unlikely collection of characters who in the process, rediscover faith in life, love and hope for the future.”

Lewis actor Laurence Fox leads the cast as Jonathan Donald, a wealthy but narrow-minded luxury car dealer whose attitude is challenged when he receives a community service order at a support organisation called The Moonbeam club.

Fast Freddie, the Widow and Me will be a one-off 90-minute drama directed by David Richards. The drama also stars Doctor Who actress Sarah Smart.

The STV produciton has been commissioned by the Director of Drama Commissioning, Laura Mackie, and the Controller of Drama Commissioning, Sally Haynes.

“I’m delighted that we are working with STV on Fast Freddie, the Widow and Me. Christopher Dunlop has written a funny, heart-warming and evocative story that will be a real treat for the festive season” said Sally.
