ABC orders second season of Body of Proof

ABC has ordered a second season of its new investigative drama Body of Proof.

TV Line is reporting ABC has renewed the series. The drama starring Dana Delany and Jeri Ryan has been performing well for the network and was widely expected to be picked up for a second season. The pilot episode attracted 14 million viewers while subsequent episodes have pulled in up to 11 million viewers. Dana Delany left her role of Katherine Mayfair on fellow ABC drama Desperate Housewives to take up the role on Body of Proof.

The drama’s renewal comes on the same day that several other ABC shows such as V, Brothers & Sisters, Off the Map and No Ordinary Family have been axed by the network. However, ABC has picked up pilots such as Charlie’s Angels and Pan Am for series.
