Doctor Who: The Doctor’s Wife Ratings
Doctor Who saw a slight dip in ratings once again last night for The Doctor’s Wife, the fourth episode of the new series.
The episode was highly anticipated by fans as it was written by Neil Gaiman and guest-starred Suranne Jones. According to overnight figures the episode had 5.9 million viewers which is down somewhat on last week’s episode. The episode peaked at around 6.2 million viewers at one point. However, once again ratings for BBC One surged high as Doctor Who started and it was the third most watched programme of the day. Once final figures are released in ten days time the episode will have rated significantly higher. Also BBC iplayer results for The Doctor’s Wife will also likely be very high. Each episode of the sixth season so far has seen downloads on the iplayer of over 1 million in the seven days following its original transmission.
Doctor Who Confidential on BBC Three reached its highest ratings so far this season with 716,000 viewers. Britain’s Got Talent, usually the top-rated show on Saturdays, was pushed into second place by the Eurovision Song Contest with had 9.4 million viewers!
