CBS orders more Hawaii Five-0

Hawaii Five-0CBS has ordered a second series of its Hawaii Five-0 remake as well as Blue Bloods and Mike & Molly. However, William Shatner’s comedy $#*! My Dad Says won’t be back and nor will Mad Love or The Defenders.

Its remake of Hawaii Five-0, the classic detective drama, stars Grace Park, Alex O’Loughlin and Daniel Dae Kim and was developed by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Fringe & Star Trek). It’s renewal for a second series isn’t that surprising and in fact was a forgone conclusion for a while now. Perhaps more surprising is the renewal of police drama Blue Bloods starring Tom Selleck. While its ratings have been relatively good for CBS with an average of 11 million viewers there were still some reports claiming it was on the “bubble” and could be axed. The network has also handed a second series to Mike & Molly.

Not so lucky to be renewed were $#*! My Dad Says,  Mad Love and The Defenders. $#*! My Dad Says, starring William Shatner, has been widely panned by critics and had distantly average ratings. There was some chance it could have been renewed considering its ratings weren’t massively low and better compared to some other shows on CBS but obviously the network had other ideas. The axings of The Defenders and Mad Love are no big shockers.
