Rula Lenska to leave Coronation Street

Rula Lenska is to leave Coronation Street according to tabloid reports.

The Sun claims the actress has already filmed her final scenes as the glamorous Claudia Colby; a friend of Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) and rival salon owner. Her departure from the soap is being lined up to allow Audrey and Marc Selby (Andrew Hall) to become a couple. Currently Claudia and Marc are in a relationship although the hairdresser thought her partner was cheating on her only to discover his real secret – as a cross dresser with an alter ego called Marcia.

However, the door will be reportedly left open for Rula Lenska to return in the future. The actress will tour the country from August in a stage production of Calendar Girls. Lenska joined the cast of Coronation Street last year and rumours emerged that she would become the new landlady of The Rovers Return. However, these rumours were proven to be unfounded when it was announced former EastEnders actress Michelle Collins was joining the soap as the new landlady.
