Doctor Who: The Rebel Flesh ratings

Doctor WhoDoctor Who was the second most watched programme of Saturday evening once more as millions tuned in for The Rebel Flesh.

The two-part story set in the 22nd century, penned by Matthew Graham, kicked off last night with nearly six million viewers. The story see’s the Doctor, Amy and Rory stranded in an acid factory with humans and their “gangers”, who thanks to a solar storm, have been fully sentient creatures. The story guest-stars Raquel Cassidy, Sarah Smart and Marshall Lancaster. According to overnight figures The Rebel Flesh was seen by 5.7 million viewers with a peak of 5.9 million viewers.

It was the most watched programme on BBC One on Saturday and second for the day overall behind Britain’s Got Talent. As ever these ratings do NOT take into account time-shift viewing – those who record it and watch it later – and also don’t include downloads via the iPlayer. Once final figures are released and download figures for the iPlayer are available the 5.7 million viewer figure will rise significantly.
