Olly Murs and Caroline Flack to present the Xtra Factor

Olly MursSimon Cowell has revealed that Olly Murs and Caroline Flack will be the new presenters for ITV2’s Xtra Factor.

The behind-the-scenes series which accompanies The X Factor has certainly gone through presenters in recent years. Olly Murs is no stranger to the world of X Factor having been a runner-up in 2009 when he was beaten by Joe McElderry. Caroline Flack meanwhile presents  I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here Now! for ITV2.

The two replace last year’s host Konnie Huq, best known for her Blue Peter days, who didn’t go down well with some fans of the show. The first three seasons of the Xtra Factor were presented by GMTV‘s Ben Shephard and he was replaced by Fearne Cotton. However, after just one series she was replaced by Holly Willoughby but due to her other ITV commitments she only lasted a season as well.

The new line-up for the Xtra Factor comes days after the new judging panel for the X Factor was revealed with Louis Walsh the only remaining judge from previous seasons. Simon Cowell will not be a regular judge, though there’s some expectation he may appear as a guest judge, due to the American version of the X Factor. Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole are also – at this stage – not part of the panel. The new judges are Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos.
