Jo Wright to replace Brian True-May on Midsomer Murders

Midsomer MurdersJo Wright is to replace current Midsomer Murders producer Brian True-May.

Broadcast reports that Wright will take over as producer on Midsomer Murders from the dramas co-creator Brian True-May at the end of its current 14th season. May’s departure from the ITV Drama follows a race-row earlier this year in which comments he made, about the lack of ethnic minority characters, to the Radio Times prompted an outcry.

Broadcast also reports that the 15th season of Midsomer Murders is likely to be “re-freshed”. Original star John Nettles recently bowed out of the long-running series and has been replaced by Neil Dudgeon. Although another series has yet to be commissioned it is anticipated that ITV will order another series. Jo Wright has previously been head of drama series at the BBC were she over-saw long running sagas EastEnders and Casualty.
