Wednesday Ratings: Waterloo Road suffers at hands of Britain’s Got Talent

Waterloo RoadOvernight ratings reveal BBC One drama Waterloo Road lost over 1 million viewers, slumping below 4 million, at the hands of Britain’s Got Talent.

The school drama had, so far, performed well in its 7.30pm slot on Wednesdays which it moved to at the start of the new series. However, last night it slumped to 3.3 million viewers at it went against Britain’s Got Talent. The drop isn’t surprising and shouldn’t worry fans too much and doubtless it will recover next week. Britain’s Got Talent itself had 9.1 million viewers between 7.30pm and 9pm.

At 9pm The Apprentice went up against Coronation Street with both programmes losing ratings on their previous outings. The Apprentice, which had a shock double sacking, had a respectable 6.3 million viewers – down from 7.4 million the previous week. Coronation Street meanwhile dropped below 10 million viewers with 9m viewers tuning in – down on Tuesday evening’s instalment. However, the time-shift viewing figures – from ITV1 +1 – added a further 500,000 viewers to the episode.
