Confirmed: Glee to move to Sky

It’s been confirmed that Sky has successful acquired the smash-hit comedy musical Glee from E4.

It was reported a few weeks ago that Sky was bidding for the UK rights to the third series of Glee.
The first two seasons have aired on E4 where it has proved to be a runaway success for the digital channel with audiences nearing the 2 million mark.
However, such is the success of the series that it attracted the attention of Sky who have out-bidded E4 for the new series.

Glee will move to Sky1 this Autumn and the channel has also acquired the rights to The Glee Project, a new reality series which aims to find new talent.

The loss of Glee to E4 will be big considering it was one of the channel’s highest rated dramas but against the bidding from Sky it could not afford the musical.

The programme follows the lives of the students of the school ‘glee club’ as well as the conflicts with those in the education facility who hate jazz hands, song and dance and bad cover versions.
