Marie Osmond to join The Bold and the Beautiful

Marie Osmond is to join the cast of award-winning CBS soap The Bold and the Beautiful.

Entertainment Tonight reports that Osmond will join the cast of the daytime soap later this year. Osmond revealed her forthcoming stint on the soap at last night’s Daytime Emmy awards saying “You only have One life to live, and All My Children asked me to do a soap, so I’m doing The Bold and the Beautiful”.

The Bold and the Beautiful took home several gongs from this year’s Daytime Emmy’s including Best Drama Series, Best Directing (which it shared with sister CBS saga The Young and the Restless) and Heather Tom won Best Supporting Actress for her role of Katie Logan.

It is unclear when Marie Osmond will be appearing in the soap or for how long – whether its a single episode or an extended stint. Previous high profile guest stars on The Bold and the Beautiful have included Linda Gray, Stephanie Beacham, Betty White, Charlton Heston, Kathryn Joosten and Christopher Cazenove – some of whom appeared as themselves rather than characters.
