Alan Balls confirms True Blood season five talks

True BloodTrue Blood showrunner Alan Ball has confirmed talks are already underway over a fifth season of the HBO drama.

The fourth seasons hasn’t even premiered yet on HBO – though its not far off – and talk has already begun about a possible fifth season. It’s already been reported that actor Scott Foley will appear in the season four finale in a major recurring role that will likely continue into True Blood’s fifth season. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter showrunner Alan Ball has confirmed talks have started about over a fifth season.

“Right now I’m in the middle of negotiating for a fifth season. I don’t know if I have any left in me after that. We’ll see.” – Alan Ball speaking to the Hollywood Reporter

Interestingly Ball also tells the Hollywood Reporter he thinks True Blood has the potential to run and run but not necessarily with him in charge. In a previous interview with Rolling Stone he said “I don’t believe True Blood is 100 percent dependent on my participation. It has a strong following and a really strong cast, and there could be a future where I step back and the show would continue.”
