Roxane Mesquida signs up for Gossip Girl

French actress Roxane Mesquida is joining the cast of Gossip Girl as a new nemesis for Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), Queen Bee of the Upper East Side.

TVLine reports the actress has signed up to play the sister of Blair’s fiancée, Prince Louis (Hugo Becker). As yet the character’s name hasn’t been revealed but she isn’t happy about Blair’s impending marriage to her brother and is going to try and sabotage it. The role is a recurring one so Mesquida will be sticking around on Gossip Girl for a while.

The fifth season of Gossip Girl launches in September and it was recently revealed that actresses Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr will not be part of the regular cast. However, its been hinted that both may appear in the fifth season in guest-star capacity.
