Russell T. Davies blasts Cameron and Clegg
Torchwood creator & writer Russell T. Davies has blasted David Cameron and Nick Clegg.
The openly gay writer criticised the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister during an interview on Radio Four. He attacked the pair and the coalition for the spending cuts and for their affect on the BBC. He labelled the two “savage and evil people” and claimed that while they appeared “buffoonish” they were “lethal as a laser”. Speaking about a photo opportunity featuring David Cameron and Nick Clegg at a hospital last week the writer said;
“That Clegg and Cameron photo opportunity, at the bed, ‘oh, we’re all laughing’ – they are savage and evil people underneath it all…..There is a great intelligence behind the Tory party that says let’s appear slightly bumbling and slightly buffoonish, while they are lethal as a laser underneath it all” – Russell T. Davies speaking to Radio Four
The writer has been openly critical of the Conservatives in the past. In the run up to the General Election in 2010 Davies warned of the danger of the party getting into power. Russell T. Davies successor on Doctor Who, Steven Moffat, has also criticised the Conservatives before as has David Tennant.
