Alex Polizzi to check in with the BBC

Alex Polizzi, who fronts Channel 5’s The Hotel Inspector has been poached by the BBC.

Several media reports state that the BBC has signed up Alex to front a new show in which she will help family run businesses which have come into difficulty. It has been said that the show will be styled on Gordon Ramsay’s Channel 4 show, in which he helps out small restaurants from closing.

The Hotel Inspector began on Channel 5 in 2005 and quickly rose to become one of the channel’s most watched shows. Alex took over from Ruth Watson, who quit in 2008 and moved to Channel 4. The seventh series began in April this year, and the last episode aired in June.

It is not yet known who will take over as the new hotel inspector.
