FT: Jeremy Hunt to delay BSkyB decision until September

The Financial Times is reporting that the Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt is to delay his decision on BSkyB until September.

The Financial Times is reporting that the Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt is to delay his decision on BSkyB until September. News Corporation is looking to take full control of BSkyB, although recent phone hacking allegations has led to a campaign for it to be blocked.

There has been pressure on Culture Secretary Jeremy Hunt and Prime Minister David Cameron to block Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp from launching a takeover bid of BSkyB. It now appears that the government have bowed to pressure and will delay the decision until September. A government official has told the FT that due the vast amount of submissions there would have to be a delay in the decision.  It has been revealed today that Jeremy Hunt has received over 100,000 submissions in regards to the proposed bid and concessions laid out by News Corporation.
