Debbi Morgan joining The Young and the Restless
{jcomments on}Actress Debbi Morgan has signed a deal to join the cast of CBS soap The Young and the Restless.
The actress currently plays the role of Dr Angie Hubbard on ABC soap All My Children which is due to end on-screen in September. It was announced this week though the soap would continue online in the “same format” but it will be minus the actress who is switching to rival soap The Young and the Restless. As yet there are no details on her character in the CBS soap or how long she’ll be in the show.
Morgan’s exit may be the first of many for All My Children as cast members opt not remain onboard the soap as it exits television and moves to be exclusively online. It will perhaps be the biggest change in the show’s history bar its move from New York to Los Angeles several years ago. It’s still unclear what the change will mean for the soap and whether its change in broadcast platform will mean a cast cull to cut costs.
Actress Debbi Morgan has been part of the AMC cast since the 1980s on/off and also appeared, in the same role, on now defunct soaps Loving and The City. The actress has also had regular roles in Generations, Port Charles and General Hospital as well a stint in The Bold and the Beautiful.
