Preeya Kalidas set to return to EastEnders

{jcomments on}A tabloid newspaper claims actress Preeya Kalidas is set to return to EastEnders.

The actress played Amira Masood in the BBC One soap bowing out last year when she discovered her husband, Syed (Marc Elloit), had been having an affair with Albert Square resident Christian (John Partridge) – someone she considered to be a friend. The Mirror reports that Amira is set to return to Walford as Christian and Syed plan to enter into a Civil Partnership.

Amira is manipulative and her presence looks set to turn the lives of the Masoods upside down. The question is, has she moved on from her husband or will she do whatever she can to get him back? The paper reports that Preeya Kalidas will begin filming with EastEnders in a few weeks with her on-screen return coming in Autumn. Producer Bryan Kirkwood recently revealed he was hoping to bring back a character to the soap and it has previously been reported that Nicola Stapleton will be returning to the soap, after 17 years, to reprise her role of Mandy Salter.
