Brady Bunch creator Sherwood Schwartz dies aged 94

Sherwood also created Gilligan’s Island.

Creator and writer of iconic family sitcom The Brady Bunch, Sherwood Schwartz, has died aged 94.
Schwartz also created Gilligan’s Island, a comedy about castaways attempting to survive. Originally airing on CBS in 1964, it only lasted until 1967 after three seasons. It will probably be The Brady Bunch that he will be most remembered for, showcasing a blended, clean-cut family. Airing on ABC, it managed five seasons from 1969 – 1974.
It is said that The Brady Bunch endured success because of its portrayal of the ‘wholesome’ image of America. In 2008, Schwartz was awarded a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
